Presentation ceremony

Yesterday, the presentation ceremony of Unlimited Edition: life designed by you – The Bag took place, a training programme designed for the women’s section of Casa di Reclusione di Milano–Bollate, promoted by Fondazione Francesco Morelli in collaboration with IED – Istituto Europeo di Design S.B.p.A., Ethicarei and Fondazione Severino.

Unlimited Edition was created as a manifesto of possibilities: restoring design to its most authentic meaning, as a way of thinking capable of reading reality and transforming it. A project that places design at the centre not merely as an aesthetic discipline, but as a tool for dignity, autonomy and personal growth.

The Bag represents the first concrete expression of this vision. Eight participants, selected from a wider pool of candidates, followed an intensive training path designed to provide design-related skills oriented toward the creation of a bag. Guided by IED faculty, they discovered a new language, one capable of revealing creative resources that many had never had the chance to explore.

The bags designed throughout the programme were later produced with care by the professionals of Cooperativa Alice, who supported the project during the prototyping and manufacturing phases.

For each of them, the bag became a symbol: memory, professional possibilities, autonomy and, above all, the tangible proof that one can build something new starting from oneself.

During the ceremony, the eight women received the bags they had designed and their certificates of participation — a collective moment of recognition that honoured their commitment, creativity, and the transformative journey they undertook.

The event was enriched by two key contributions:

– the documentary produced by Oxymoro, which retraces every phase of the project from the inside;

– the photographic series by artist Rita Lino, capturing the visual and symbolic strength of the work.

Thanks to the contribution of the Fondazione Severino, an impact assessment will also be carried out to measure the project’s social, educational and transformative value.
